Piotrek Długołęcki
In our latest article, Intercru dives inside the work of talented Polish photographer Piotrek Dlugolecki. Find out more about his style and who some of his biggest inspirations are.
Intercru: Where are you from?
Piotrek: I’m from Warsaw, Poland.
Where do you live and work now?
I currently live in Warsaw. In addition to doing wedding photography, I work in the ‘Studio Chmury’ photo studio and I make my own photo projects.
How did you get started in photography?
I started photographing like every photographer: with a phone. After purchasing my first SLR camera, I was fascinated by taking pictures during football matches, because I was connected with this sport my whole life.
In addition to taking pictures of football, there were also street pictures, mostly of building architecture. In the meantime, I met my current girlfriend who works as a model. She convinced me to photograph models and establish new collaborations. Despite a short internship as a photographer (2.5 years), I think that I have already found what I like to photograph the most.
What do you do to find creative inspiration?
Recently, I am more and more inspired by light. Once a photographer friend of mine, Kuba Lysiak, said, “Light is everything.”
Besides that, I spend a lot of time on Instagram and Pinterest looking for inspiration. It’s enough to get out of the house and there is already a lot of inspiration in the street among people and our everyday life.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
My greatest inspiration are two Polish photographers: Jan Dmitri and Mateusz Kostrzewa. Jan takes pictures exactly in my favorite style, while Mateusz takes sports pictures, which I think are amazing.
How would you define your creative style?
It’s hard for me to answer this question because I haven’t figured out my style yet ;) But if I were to describe it in a few words, the style I strive for is all about light, movement, and emotions.
