Intercru: Where are you from?

Mattia: I’m from Perugia, a medieval city located in the heart of Italy well known for the wine, truffles, and beautiful landscapes.

Where do you live and work now?

I live in my hometown and work as a photographer for an Italian tailoring brand.

What was the first camera you owned?

My first camera was a film Canon EOS 1V.

What is your favorite movie of all time?

“8 e Mezzo” by the legendary Federico Fellini.

What is the hardest part about photography?

Definitely finding the perfect balance between all the different elements like the right combo of lights, location, model, mood, etc.

If a genie gave you 3 wishes, what they would be?

To have time! Because If you have time you have everything. To have the superpower of teleportation. And finally, to have my own island.

What is the best gift you’ve ever been given?

A rare vintage camera.

Who is your biggest hero?

My mother! She is the perfect example of a strong woman who followed her dreams. She is an artist and she inspired me to go after what I’m the most passionate about– photography.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Let it go!

Who would play you in a Hollywood movie about your life?

Definitely Clint Eastwood.

Do you prefer a hot day at the beach or a snowy day in the mountains?

I’m a summer person! So I would say hot day at the beach.

If you had a superpower what would it be?

Invisibility! So I can take the perfect shot without being seen and catch the moment.
