Intercru: How many years have you been photographing?

Simon: I’ve been taking photos for a really long time. I got my first analog camera at around 10 years old I think. I didn’t do much with that but I remember it felt kinda cool. I did shoot a lot of BMX riding for a long time- I started with that at 14 I think. And at around 24 I got into the stuff I do now.

How did you get into photography?

The kind of photos I take now started when I took some photos of a friend that wanted start DJing. And I thought it was really fun to work with someone and making something together.

What was the most fun you’ve ever had on a photoshoot?

That’s a hard one. Maybe a shoot I did with Alexandra Burman out in the Swedish archipelago. Also, I recently did a shoot with two really talented models (Lisa Nilsson and Tijana Nikolic) at Josefinelust. That was fun :)

What was your favorite subject in school?

Math. I always knew I wanted to be an engineer so just had to get good at it I guess.

What’s your favorite song?

Swedish song: Genesarets sjö - Kjell Höglund

English song: Mr. Tambourine Man - Bob Dylan

Who would star as you in a movie?

My girlfriend says Patrick Dempsey. I know some people think I look like Cillian Murphy. I would go with Cillian if I had to choose.

What TV shows are you watching right now?

None now actually. I don’t really have the time…Umbrella Academy was good though.

Who is your favorite photographer of all time?

Hard one. I guess Henrik Purienne or Cameron Hammond. Amberly Valentine is extremely good as well.
