Mr. Huxley
Intercru spoke with Italian photographer Mr. Huxley to learn a little bit more about him and some of his favorite things in life
Intercru: Where are you from?
Mr. Huxley: I was born born and grew up in Italy- hopefully my cultural influence appears in my photos!
Where do you live and work now?
I’m now living in Milan which is a perfect place to be a photographer, from a stimulus point of view. As today photography is not my primary profession, I pay for all my vintage lenses with an office job for a large company.
How did you first get into photography?
Photography is a relatively recent thing in my life. I’m 33 and I bought my first camera at 29. In the last two years, I started dedicating all of my free time to this passion, and I’m keen to recover the lost time!
What is the best vacation you’ve ever had?
Last summer I made a cool road trip on the West Coast- LA first, then the Mojave Desert, historic Route 66, the Grand Canyon, and back to Vegas. We used to wake up very early and start driving before the sunrise. The lights of the sun going up and down along those unique landscapes will remain in my heart forever!
What’s your favorite TV show of all time?
Unfortunately, I don’t have much spare free time to dedicate TV, but from time to time the kid inside me loves to watch a series, especially the epic ones such as Game of Thrones. Regarding movies, I’m a Star Wars fan; to give you an idea, under my bed I have the LEGO Millennium Falcon - the huge one!
What’s your favorite color?
I’m partially color blind, not 100% sure about what is missing but I’m not able to balance the green in my photos, and I tend to remove it.
If you take a look at my works, you’ll see that I use specific tones of orange-red and blue. I can say that those together are my favorite colors.
Do you prefer summer or winter?
I like summer but not in a traditional way. I don’t enjoy the seaside and crowded places, but instead I prefer long summer days with warm light which are the silver bullet to the solution when you need take a good pic.
Who’s your favorite actor/actress?
I prefer models over actors and actresses, but if I have to pick one, I would chose Marine Vacth because she is both an amazing actress and model. Regarding actors, I say Leo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks - Catch Me If You Can is the perfect film!
