Mireia Farran
“They say that the most difficult thing is dedicating yourself to photography. Personally, I don’t see any other way to do it.”
Intercru: Where are you from? Where do you live and work now?
Mireia: I’m from Barcelona and I live and work here.
What got you first interested in photography?
I first became interested when I was a teenager. I bought a camera and took photos of my life and my friends.
I slowly realized that photography was a means to connect with people and learn more about them and that’s what really got me hooked.
What is the hardest part about photography?
They say that the most difficult thing is dedicating yourself to photography. Personally, I don’t see any other way to do it so for me, that part isn’t too hard.
The most difficult thing for me, though, are the long weeks glued to the computer screen. For that reason (and many others) I enjoy shooting with film much more.
For you, what makes the perfect photo?
The perfect photo doesn’t exist, it is just the moment in which you are determined to shoot.
Where do you find inspiration for your photography?
I find inspiration everywhere: in conversations, landscapes, textures, but more than anything, I would say in travel and cinema.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Listen to yourself and trust your instincts.
